Ideas to have a large kitchen, beautiful and impact in a small house

Hands up who has never wanted a kitchen like those admired in glossy magazines! Often beautiful kitchens occupy complacent oversize spaces equally large houses, while we are confronted with far more compact dimensions when not properly risicate. Yet it is possible to realize an equally beautiful and functional kitchen , even when we live in a small apartment: it is important to make the right choices.

If our apartment is characterized by a single space with different functions, a good idea is to focus on the continuity of furnishings, colors and finishes. The kitchen will be so essential part of the environment, as in the example in the picture. The space is well exploited, seamless: it is difficult to know where to start cooking and the dining area or work. Each element is part of something else and the kitchen goes beyond its functional aspect.

Distinguish without separating

Think of a solution to island or peninsula when the square meters available are contained may seem inappropriate; yet it is not so. One problem encountered when designing a unique environment is to be able to differentiate and characterize the different functions. The idea to place a breakfast floor (island or peninsula that is) in support of a small kitchen provides the opportunity to have an extra work surface and at the same time to disengage the input area or services. This is the case shown in the picture, where the designer played with the coating on the floor and with the light volume of the peninsula to differentiate with personality and sensitivity areas and functions. In fact, the continuity of the wood and the color makes shooting fluid and consistent throughout the environment.

Harnessing the centimeter: containers and creativity

The value of a kitchen is in fulfilling its functions. If you live in a two-room apartment not why we have lower needs than those who live in a villa! We can not sacrifice any niche and any centimeter of wall: mobile containers will be our salvation. As mentioned a moment ago, you can replicate the furniture in the living area, confusing them with them and give strength to the chosen style for our environment.

I always recommend you opt for specially designed furniture and exploit all the available height. Give up to 50 cm or more that remain between the ceiling and the height of the furniture offered by the market is a waste that we can not afford. The image, for example, shows how a simple wardrobe, if well designed, can contain everything we need in the kitchen and beyond.

This one example, however, shows that flexibility and creativity are our allies. This time it is a work plan that need to extract and then hide and save space when no longer needed; but they work just as well flaps that turn into breakfast or console panels that can be opened in comfortable tables for dinners with friends.

The kitchen you do not expect

If space is really mini it will also be the kitchen. But as I said, without sacrificing character and functionality. Built for the small apartments, the retractable kitchens are back in our homes and with original solutions and impact. The picture shows, for example, such as inside of a discrete wall unit are concealed like surprises. The system for folding and sliding doors allows you to unlock the individual modules of our cuisine that appear ironic, irreverent and above all functional. In this case the color is the protagonist and gives a welcome surprise.

He totally different intentions, however, the picture in the proposed solution: the mobile clearly contains a kitchen and demands attention.

vaguely retro shapes and contrasting dark color do not want to hide but recall the look of a precious furniture. Ideal if you do not have the need to prepare lunches or important to furnish a pied-a-terre to take refuge in search of relaxation.

Small but precious 

Having to concentrate on small spaces can be daring and sometimes even exaggerating.Why not decorate our kitchen with eye-catching details, expensive-looking? From copy the idea in the photo, the splash guard in gold diamond tile seems taken directly from the world of the Wizard of Oz and transforms an ordinary food in an exceptional space.

 Play with contrasts

A more valid way to add character to a room is to play with contrasts. This also applies to the kitchen, especially when it's mini as in our example. It was enough to resort to the classic juxtaposition of black and white to emphasize the small kitchen, highlighting volumes and accentuating the depth of perspective.

And what of the brass-plated pendant? A point of light that shines from off to contrast the black and white frame from which it emerges. A couple of tricks of the trade for a kitchen mini maxi personality.

Embrace the latest trends

Although we think of a small apartment kitchen can still be the undisputed star of the house. Looking at this last example we see that it was enough to put together some ideas seen so far to get a spectacular result.

We see how the tie kitchen with the living area so as not to distinguish where one ends the first and early second: same colors, the same materials. The neutral and linear character of the composition is, however, the blank canvas on which compose a vivid picture. 

We find in fact some trends that will dominate the interior design of the year just started. First of all the tiles that cover the bottom wall serve as a splash guard but especially decorate with topical optical zigzag pattern. Our gaze, captured the reason that rises up to the ceiling, it is immediately kidnapped by the effect of the pending surprise waterfall on the dining table.

The latter, in addition to impress number and composition, also are able to combine the precious metals trend in the golden tint and chrome together contrast effect obtained by inserting between them some white lamps. In this way the composition is not flat and monotonous. An exercise in style which inspire us for our small, large kitchen.
