The expansion should be done by exploiting part of the loggia and the porch and must develop on two levels : on the first floor the stay must be expanded and completed with the insertion of a chimney; also it needs to be made into a studio with a bed to be used, if necessary, as a guest room. The interventions to be carried out in the basement leave greater freedom with respect to the ground floor, since it has been asked to completely rethink the existing spaces evaluating two different solutions. The first is to obtain a relaxation area for adults and children with a film / TV area, it can also be used as a tavern for several dinners, a small gym and sauna and a laundry room. The second is to build a basement with kitchen area, a smaller sitting area with TV, a gym and sauna, and a convenient laundry.

The winning proposal was the architect Gaetano Pardo . His project involves the expansion from the south side, by incorporating a part of the gallery to the living area and a part of the porch on the north side. The expansion of the ground floor allows you to make better use of the space of the living room, a fireplace in the environment by integrating and encouraging a more correct preparation of the sofa area. By freeing part of the wall that divides it from the dining area, the kitchen will use more light coming through the large openings of stay. The space created by the porch on the north side allows the creation of a comfortable studio with a sofa bed, with attached desk and bookcase. In the basement, in addition to the realization of a convenient laundry located inside the garage, it is provided to insert into the living area of an extendable table and a convertible console to organize numerous dinners and, using the angle obtained from such an extension , you can set up a mini gym with bio / sauna. The backdrop to the living area there are rearranged on the one hand the fireplace and the other two niches for holding refrigerated wine cellars. In addition to convenient carved dining area, you can take advantage, by means of a retractable screen and the projector is ceiling installed (as well as hi-fi home theater), the screening of TV shows and movies.

The lowest step of the podium is occupied by Studio 6 Architects . The new stay is spread by exploiting both the perimeter walls of the house, thus freeing the glass wall to the south, in order to exploit to the maximum the natural light. With the expansion of the lodge designers they have managed to put a fireplace in the south-west of the house. The dining area is decentralized and furnishings of the living room is recovered. In the basement, the project involves the creation of a great versatile environment. In fact, it is configured to be a relaxation area with fireplace, one game room for children, a cinema room, space for dining with friends with kitchen, gym. The living area provides various configurations, as mentioned. It has entered the blind kitchen by the fire, so as to be invisible when it should not be used. To the gym it has exploited one proceeds from the garage space.
